After so many years I returned to those streets, but I didn't recognize any of those faces, new looks and foreign hands approached me.
Fragments of existence, continuous questions about the true meaning of the sacred, the scent becomes odor, hidden, in the old sacristies, among the old pews of Palermo's monumental and popular churches, in the old wardrobes of grandmothers, each alley conceals its personal scent, an old fabric shop, the baker's oven, the barber with his ancient colognes, and the warm scent of bakeries.
On Sundays, I remember, after mass my father would hold my hand, we passed by the pastry shop on the course, my father would buy a tray of cannolis, it was a ritual, a beautiful olfactory memory, the ricotta, the candied fruits, the return home.
Narcotico is a perfume inspired by my Sicily, on the relationship with my most remote and visceral memories, the void, the depth of being.
A search that continues every day, never stopping, almost a challenge in wanting to observe, how far the scent of a place can take you.
